Our Trip Planning Consultations are the perfect service for travelers who are planning independently and want to make bookings and arrangements on their own, but also value local insight and expert advice.

During your consultation, Tim will answer all your travel questions, help you create or perfect your itinerary, share his local secrets, and give you recommendations on restaurants, activities, experiences, transportation, hidden gems, and more.
While you’re chatting, he’ll share written notes, links, and other helpful resources directly via the chat box so that you can enjoy the conversation without frantically taking notes.
Each consultation is unique and is entirely customized to you and your trip. Prior to your consultation, you’ll fill out a detailed questionnaire that really digs into you and your travel style, your interests, your questions, and your goals for the consultation. Tim will review this information in advance so that he comes into your call already prepared with recommendations and advice that are perfectly tailored to you.

“Tudo bem?! I’m Tim. Born in former East Germany, I was ten years old when the German Wall fell and my parents fulfilled their desire to finally travel for years around the planet. Ever since, traveling shifted from family trips to backpacking and became somehow my work and life.
I've been in Brazil for 20 years now and I guess I chose to live half of my life here because it is contrary to Germany in every aspect and therefore complements it very well. The young age of the country, its incredible nature, lovely people, and music made it an easy choice.
Although things changed, of course, with the birth of our daughter, my wife and I still make the most of the city and surroundings whenever we can.

Professionally, I'm a licensed national tour guide and also run a small travel agency that focuses exclusively on Brazil. We do highly customized bespoke trips for all types of travelers on any budget. I can organize trips with hang-gliding, island visits, hiking in the national parks, cycling, road trips, visits of historical sites, and of course, the buzzing nightlife of Rio, Salvador, and São Paulo.
Rio and the neighboring states are my main areas of expertise, but I've traveled extensively all over Brazil and can provide general information and travel advice for just about anywhere. Be it piranha fishing in the Pantanal, kiting in Ceará, or survival training in the Amazon, I've definitely at least dabbled in it!
For our personal travel, beaches and natural parks are our favorite places to visit, and we also head to our favorite restaurants on weekends and stay for live music wherever we find it. Our latest addition, a VW Camper Van is put to good use and is perfect for weekend trips to explore the nearby mountains or deserted beaches even better. I’m excited to help you discover my adopted home and all that it has to offer!”
